Getting Started โ€‹

Install StitchIQ, configure your first plan, upload a design, and go live โ€” in about 15 minutes.

Step 1 โ€” Install the App โ€‹

  1. Find StitchIQ in the Shopify App Store or follow the install link from your welcome email.
  2. Click Install and approve the requested permissions. StitchIQ needs access to products, orders, and customer data to function correctly.
  3. You'll be redirected to the StitchIQ dashboard inside your Shopify admin.

Step 2 โ€” Choose Your Plan โ€‹

StitchIQ requires an active subscription to function. You'll be prompted to choose a plan immediately after installation.

All plans include a 14-day free trial โ€” no charge until the trial ends.

See Billing & Plans for the full feature comparison.

Step 3 โ€” Upload Your First Design โ€‹

  1. Click Designs in the StitchIQ sidebar.
  2. Click Upload Design and select your embroidery file.
Supported formats: .pes, .dst, .emb, .jef, .vp3
  3. Fill in the design details โ€” name, category (e.g. "Logos", "Sports"), tags (e.g. "floral", "holiday"), and optionally a thumbnail image.
  4. Click Save. Your design is now live in the storefront catalog.

Categories and tags matter

Well-organized categories and tags let you create shareable filtered views of your catalog. See Gallery & Deep Links to learn how.

Step 4 โ€” Set Up Pricing โ€‹

Go to Settings โ†’ Pricing in the StitchIQ dashboard. Choose between:

  • Per-stitch pricing โ€” Price calculated automatically from stitch count ร— rate + setup fee, with a base minimum.
  • Flat rate โ€” Every design is quoted at the same price plus a setup fee.

You can also override the price on individual designs for one-off exceptions.

Step 5 โ€” Add the Catalog to Your Store โ€‹

Your catalog is live at:

https://your-store.myshopify.com/apps/stitchiq

Add this link to your store navigation, a product page button, or a collection page banner. Customers click it and see your live embroidery catalog.

For more embedding options, see the Storefront Composer guide.

Step 6 โ€” Test the Experience โ€‹

  1. Open /apps/stitchiq on your storefront (in an incognito window to test as a customer).
  2. Click a design โ€” the detail modal should open with a live thread color preview.
  3. Change a thread color โ€” the preview updates in real time.
  4. Confirm the estimated price matches your pricing configuration.
  5. Click Add to Cart to verify embroidery order properties pass through correctly.

Cart product required

"Add to Cart" requires a Shopify product configured as your embroidery product. See the Integration Guide to set this up before testing.
